Barclays has made the latest in a string of regional hires with the poaching of a Towry wealth adviser for its Reading office.
Debbie Cotton spent five years at Towry and joins Barclays wealth and investment management division in Reading, which opened last year.
Cotton will work as a private banker heading up a team providing solutions for high net worth clients in an office which has doubled in size since launch.
Barclays recently announced its wealth arm had made a 30% growth in pre-tax profit quarter on quarter, and has made a concerted effort at bulking out its regional offices recently.
The firm appointed Andrew Crossley to its Essex branch from a 15-year spell at Coutts, and hired a Elaine Hepburn from Aberdeen Asset Management for its Aberdeen branch.
Dan Gorton, director of wealth and investment management at Barclays, Reading, said: ‘We are very pleased to welcome Debbie to the team at a time when Barclays continues to grow and expand its client base in Reading. Debbie brings great experience and a proven track record to the role, and will undoubtedly help to continue our growth in the region.’
