Barclays wealth advisory head joins Salamanca
by Elsa Buchanan on Mar 07, 2014 at 11:10
Salamanca Group has hired Barclays Wealth & Investment Management wealth advisory head Catherine Grum.
Grum joins as group head of family office services, leading the delivery of wealth structuring, succession planning and relocation solutions to the bank’s ultra high net worth client base.
Based in London, Grum will spearhead the development of a new model for the provision of global family office services, aimed at helping families with increasingly complex issues to deliver on their personal and strategic objectives.
Grum started her career at Allen & Overy LLP where she worked from 2003 to 2009 in the firm’s private client department, providing wide-ranging legal and tax advice to ultra high net worths and family offices.
Chief executive officer and former Wealth Manager cover star Martin Bellamy (pictured), said: 'Catherine’s impressive track record, extensive contacts and knowledge of the family office sector are a powerful combination that will be invaluable in developing a new model for the provision of global family office services which complements the group’s wider objectives to grow capital, enable business and protect assets on behalf of our clients.
'She is an extremely valuable addition to the business and we are delighted that she has joined us.'
This follows the acquisition of the Trust & Fiduciary business earlier this year from Investec Bank, and more recently the hire Martin Devenish, who joined from Goldman Sachs to head the group's strategy.
