Markets
by Dylan Lobo on Jun 07, 2010 at 09:30
Barclays Wealth has merged its chief investment officer and head of research posts with Aaron Gurwitz assuming control of the restructured position.
Gurwitz replaces Mitch Cox as chief investment officer and Arnaud de Servigny as head of research, economics and strategy.
Gurwitz joined Barclays Wealth in 2008 as part of the firm's acquistion of Lehman Brothers' Private Investment Management (PIM) based in the Americas.
Cox will remain at the firm, serving as head of global research and investments and head of Barclays Wealth Americas, with Gurwitz reporting to him.
In his new role Gurwitz will oversee the divisions that deliver macro-economic forecasting, economic research, strategic asset allocation and regionally-cusotmised investment strategies to the firm's high net worth clients across globe.
At the same time Barclays Wealth has appointed Kevin Gardiner, who joined the firm in 2009, as head of global investment strategy where he will report to Gurwitz.
