Barclays Wealth hiring spree continues with double hire
Barclays Wealth's planned hiring spree is gathering speed with the recruitment of investment adviser Sarah Green from HSBC Global Asset Management alongside Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management's Marco Severi.

Green joins as vice president of the investment advisory team. This represents an area Barclays Wealth has been keen to strengthen over the past six months, with six other hires in July alone.

Oliver Gregson, head of investment advisory in the UK, said: 'Sarah will focus exclusively on our affluent business which is an area of recent coverage for us and one where we see great opportunities to bring clients closer to our investment capabilities.'

Green was formerly part of HSBC Global Asset Management's UK discretionary investment management team, having joined in 2004. Prior to this Green enjoyed stints at Evolution Group and Christows Stockbrokers.
Forming part of the wealth manager's ambitious growth plans, the firm has also boosted its alternative investments team with the hire of Marco Severi from Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. This represents the firm's sixth hire to its alternative investments team in recent times. Severi will report to Jamie Murray, head of alternatives.

Barclays Wealth has invested extensively within its private bank in recent months in a bid to meet ambitious growth targets.

Last month Citywire revealed its parent, Barclays Bank had injected £350 million into the business to help it quadruple the size of its business and double its number of private bankers.
