Brewins hires Welsh planning head but loses analyst to Rathbones

Brewin Dolphin fund analyst Robert Crawshaw has left its research team to join Rathbones’ private client division.

Crawshaw, who worked in Matthew Butcher’s team, has opted to move into direct private client investment management at Rathbones, starting in March. He will join investment director Jane Sydenham's (pictured) team.

Elsewhere in the UK, Brewin has bolstered its Welsh office, adding a divisional director, Adrian Watson. He joins from Coutts to head the office’s financial planning team, forming part of the national wealth manager’s plans to grow its financial planning capability nationally.

David Myrddin-Evans, head of Brewin’s Cardiff office, said: ‘As we help more and more clients with their investment management needs, we are increasingly of the view that financial planning advice must be available to all our clients as we structure their investments.’

Watson had been at Coutts since 2007, while Crawshaw joined Brewin in 2006 and was responsible for UK, US and fixed income fund recommendations.
