Brewins makes further hires from Barclays’ Bristol office
Markets
by Sarah Miloudi on Nov 30, 2012 at 13:45
Brewin Dolphin has raided Barclays’ Bristol office for the second time this year, recruiting Jon Treen and Gavin Budd as divisional directors in its regional office.
Now almost a year old, Brewin’s Bristol branch has increased its headcount to 20. The hires follow the recruitment of Jonathan Godfrey from the local Barclays Wealth office in April.
The two new recruits join alongside Christopher Stanley-Smith, previously of Rathbones, who has been appointed investment manager.
Terry Leach, head of Brewin Dolphin’s Bristol office said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Jon, Gavin and Christopher to Brewin Dolphin. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise which will complement our existing teams and the new appointments will help with the commitment we have to grow the business here in Bristol.’
The company has previously stated it would not seek to open any further divisional offices but would expand its current regional hubs, while undertaking limited consolidation of smaller branches.
In its most recent update to the market, for the three months to 30 June, Brewins, which headed up by Jamie Matheson (pictured), reported income over the period was up from £64 million to £68 million. Over the nine months from September 2011, total funds under management rose 4.2% to £25 billion.
