Brewins merges Bradford and Leeds offices in branch 'tidy up'

Brewin Dolphin’s Bradford office will be rolled into its operation in Leeds.

Jamie Matheson, the private client investment manager’s chair, confirmed the change to Wealth Manager and said there had been a bit of ‘tidying up’ in its 42-strong branch network.

As well as the Bradford office moving to join its colleagues in Leeds, Brewins’ Elgin office in Moray, Scotland, has relocated to Inverness, while its Dumfries hub has moved to Penrith.

But Matheson said Brewins’ clients and investors should not expect significant changes to its nationwide operation. ‘We have done a bit of tidying up with the network during the year.  We are not looking [to introduce] material changes beyond that. You might see a degree [of change] but not a significant quantum,’ he explained.

Speaking after Brewins’ preliminary results, in which the firm posted a 36.5% rise in pre-tax profits to £29.9 million, Matheson (pictured) said financial planning would remain in focus so that over the longer term all of Brewins’ offices could provide these services to investors.

‘We want to broaden the service offering to clients, but that’s going to take time to get people right for us and our clients. We cannot do that overnight,’ he said, adding the shift could take around two years to complete.
