Brown Advisory lures Fleming Family chief in double hire
by Sarah Miloudi on Dec 04, 2012 at 10:19
Institutional and private client firm Brown Advisory has brought Simon Peck and Quintin Ings-Chambers to its London team.
The pair join as head and deputy head of Brown's UK private client services and will take charge of building out the firm's capabilities in Britain.
Prior to joining the firm, Peck served as chief executive of the UK asset management business of Fleming Family & Partners, which he joined in 2004.
Ings-Chambers comes to Brown having previously worked as an investment director at SGPB Hambros.
Brown Advisory was founded back in 1993 within American investment bank Alex Brown & Sons. Over nearly 20 years it has amassed £20 billion in institutional and private client assets. It manages roughly £10 billion for families and high net worth investors globally.
Brown expanded its operation into London in 2008 and its latest hires will help provide UK investors and families with strategic advice.
'For several years we have advised some prominent US expats in London and as increased regulation has made it difficult for UK wealth managers to work with Americans, we believe this is an area of great opportunity for us,' said Logie Fitzwilliams, head of Brown Advisory's international business.
The onset of Fatca is understood to have seen some private client operators move away from this area, owing to its administrative burden to inform US legislators about the tax affairs of Americans living abroad as well as investors with positions in US-based investments.
