Brown Shipley boosts London team with Lloyds hire
by Elsa Buchanan on Nov 04, 2013 at 13:05
Brown Shipley has boosted its private banking team in London with the hire of John Goldie from Lloyds.
Wealth Manager understands that Goldie, a senior private banker from Lloyds TSB’s private clients division, is set to join Brown Shipley’s London office with an assistant. The move follows a seven-year spell at Lloyds’ Mayfair hub.
The hire comes hot on the heels of the recruitment in Edinburgh of Jenny Purves, a private client senior manager.
Purves joined to provide banking and lending services at its Edinburgh branch. She has over 35 years’ experience and the bank said they hoped that she would use her extensive network of contacts to further develop Brown Shipley’s private wealth management lending services and presence in the ultra-high net worth market.
Charles Fotheringham, head of Brown Shipley’s Edinburgh office, said: ‘Jenny brings a great deal of experience and a strong track record working within the high net wealth sector, a division Brown Shipley is looking to grow. Her appointment will boost our proposition to both international and UK clients.’
The bank has around £3.4 billion in assets and last July, Brown Shipley’s parent group, KBL European Banks, was purchased by Precision Capital, a Qatari-backed firm based in Luxembourg.
KBL was formerly owned by KBC Group.
