Brown Shipley signals expansion plans with new banking head
by Annabelle Williams on Dec 07, 2012 at 10:47
Brown Shipley is looking to kick-start its expansion plans with the promotion of Julian Hardiman to head of private banking.
The role has been created as the Manchester-based firm hopes to effect ‘exciting and ambitious’ plans to boost assets under management, managing director Ian Sackfield said.
Hardiman has worked at Brown Shipley for eight years and was recently promoted to head of private banking for the north-west. His role will change from driving growth on a regional basis to overseeing plans for the whole of the UK, covering investment management, banking, financial and pension planning.
Brown Shipley recently appointed Charles Fotheringham as head of its Edinburgh branch in a bid to exploit the 'turmoil' facing some of its competitors in the area.
‘Next year will be a year of significant change for Brown Shipley as the structures put in place in 2012 take effect – in particular the development of the board of directors,’ Sackfield said.
‘Our new owner, Precision Capital, has agreed an exciting and ambitious new business plan to grow our assets under management. Executing these plans requires the right management team in place and Julian’s appointment as head of private banking is at the heart of this.’
