Brown Shipley Stockbroking founder to head Ravenscroft Jersey hub

Ravenscroft Stockbroking and Investment Management has appointed Haydn Taylor as chief executive of its Jersey business.

Taylor (pictured), who has more than 30 years' experience in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, was previously at Standard Bank, where he was managing director of the stockbroking and asset management business as well as having responsibility for the private and corporate banking businesses.

Prior to this, he helped found Brown Shipley Stockbroking which became part of the Standard Bank Group in 1992. He started his career at Trevor Matthews & Carey Stockbrokers, later renamed Hoare Govett Channel Islands.

In his new role, Taylor will focus on developing the firm's relationship with trust companies and independent financial advisers, as well as expand the firm's high net worth business with both local and international private clients.

Commenting on his appointment, Taylor said in a statement: 'In the future I look forward to adding to our [Ravenscroft] existing team with people who share the company’s core values of delivering a personal service and effective investment opportunities.

'This is an exciting time to be joining the firm and I look forward to the opportunity of playing a significant role in achieving Ravenscroft’s aim in becoming the leading stockbroking and investment management company in the Channel Islands.'

Ravenscroft employs over 40 staff across the Channel Islands, and manages just under £1.4 billion in assets for both private clients and institutional clients.
