Budget 2014: 'ghost homes' hit with stamp duty hike on £500k properties

The government has pledged to crack on individuals who dodge stamp duty by owning homes via a company structure, many of which Osborne said are left empty.

From midnight tonight 'ghost homes' worth over £500,000 will be charged 15% stamp duty, the chancellor revealed in his annual Budget.
