Charlotte Square hires Brewin’s Kris Barclay
by Danielle Levy on Mar 18, 2013 at 14:01
Charlotte Square has hired Brewin Dolphin’s Kris Barclay as a senior investment manager.
Barclay was an associate director at Brewin, where he spent 14 years, and his appointment comes as part of a continuing period of expansion for the Edinburgh boutique.
Now in its tenth year, the firm hired James Rae as an investment assistant and Gillian Macready as an investment administrator in 2012 and has another recruit in the pipeline which will take its total headcount up to 10, plus two external consultants.
Charlotte Square’s back office is handled by Raymond James, with Pershing acting as the custodians, freeing the office to focus on investment management and client relationships.
William Forsyth, the firm’s principal, said: ‘As we begin to celebrate our tenth year of business, Kris’s arrival brings together a 12-month recruitment programme across our investment and support teams, with another recruit due to join us this month. We have in place a young, energetic team that is ready for the challenges ahead.
‘This is a time of change in both the markets and the financial services industry [and] we see this as an ideal time for a business like Charlotte Square to attract new clients who are interested in a truly personalised service.’
