Clifford George departs Barclays for Investec Wealth
by Danielle Levy on Sep 06, 2013 at 13:52
Investec Wealth & Investment is set to bolster its Glasgow team with the hire of Clifford George from Barclays, Wealth Manager understands.
George, a vice president in Barclays’ Glasgow-based wealth and investment team, has resigned after 27 years at the bank. He is understood to have plans to join Investec Wealth & Investment as an investment director.
George’s departure follows those of David MacNeil, Duncan Gourlay and David Ridland from the bank’s Glasgow team earlier this year. Meanwhile a regional management restructure saw Mark Little’s responsibilities as managing director of Scotland and Ireland taken up by Calum Brewster.
Investec Wealth & Investment, led by Jonathan Wragg (pictured), has been busy elsewhere in Scotland with a quadruple hire from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management’s Edinburgh team, including its office head Grant Milne who is set to join in September.
Investec and Barclays declined to comment.
