Cofunds demands access to super clean share classes
by Jun Merrett on Oct 10, 2013 at 08:07
Cofunds has written to fund groups demanding the platform is given access to any 'super clean' share classes.
Stephen Wynne-Jones, head of marketing at Cofunds said: 'We've been quite clear in our position that we will always look to get the best deals for our clients. We have been having conversations with fund groups for the last couple of months to get agreements that if they are going to make available preferential clean share classes for a certain type of distributor they are comfortable that will be made available to Cofunds.
'All we're trying to do is to vary the agreements with fund groups to get that into contracts. Broadly speaking we've had agreement from a lot of partners. The broad opinion is that they are favourable as they are already doing it now.'
The platform is also understood to be talking to a number of providers about housing structured products on the platform from next year.
Wynne-Jones said: 'Cofunds does not currently offer structured products. However, our pricing model has been developed in such a way to enable us to bring these onto the platform. An exact date for this has yet to be confirmed.'
