Cornelian Asset Managers’ head of charities June Jessop has left the firm.
Jessop, who was a director at the investment boutique, has decided to take a break from the industry after a four-year stint at Cornelian. During this period she helped to increase its charity business fourfold to more than £70 million in assets.
Chief operating officer John Jackson said the company is in the process of recruiting a replacement. In the interim, investment director Marcus Brooks and Stephen Hunter, director of private clients and charities, will take over responsibility for the firm’s charity clients.
Jessop has led Cornelian’s charity portfolio management team and run private client portfolios since 2006. She previously headed the charities businesses at Stewart Ivory & Co and later Adam & Company Investment Management before joining Cornelian.
The news follows the hire of Gillian Hepburn, formerly of Standard Life, back in June as the firm looks to build ties with the IFA sector. Her appointment came after the Edinburgh-based wealth manager decided to split the company into two specialist divisions: one offering investment management to private clients and charities and the other to the IFA sector.
