Coutts hires Lloyds’ Hart for ultra high net worth role

Coutts Private Office has appointed Oliver Hart as a director to look after ultra high net worth clients.

In his London-based role, Hart will report to Camilla Stowell and will take on clients whose assets exceed £30 million or who have more than £10 million available to be invested.

Hart has over 13 years’ experience and joins from Lloyds Private Bank, where he spent four years as a senior private banker.

Prior to this, he worked at Barclays Wealth as an associated director, and previously spent three years with Brown Shipley as a portfolio manager.

He started his career with HSBC Investments, where he was a specialist in discretionary investment management.

Hardly the right pedigree for the ultra high net worth market. All three PB's have been sliced and diced so often it is difficult to tell exactly what they do or offer.

Coutts had a ready made Director in place already, Richard Lockhart at Adam & Company who has experience at the highest level and could have done this job without breaking stride. Good old Coutts and RBS, they spend so much time (and rhetoric) on talent management but do exactly nothing about it - all lip service I'm afraid. Teddy.
