Coutts signs string of hires for Manchester push
by Elsa Buchanan on Aug 15, 2013 at 07:49
The private bank has recruited Barclays’ Mark Esner as executive director and wealth manager.
Esner, who will be responsible for developing new and existing business in the North West, started at Barclays in 2004. He opened and headed a new office for the firm in Liverpool, before leaving after a management restructure of its regional offices this June.
In his new role, Esner will report to Paul Summerell, director and wealth manager in Manchester, who said: ‘Leveraging his extensive connections in the North West, [Esner] will be a significant asset in our development of new and existing business.’
Separately, Barry Grieve, Paul Spann and Simeon Livesey are joining the Manchester office as director, associate director and associate, respectively.
Spann joins from HSBC, where he managed a portfolio of both private banking and commercial clients in Manchester and Cheshire.
Both Grieve and Livesey were previously at NatWest Private Banking as head of operations and private banking manager.
These appointments are part of a series of ‘strategic’ hires within the region, Summerell said. ‘We are confident they will further enable us to meet the increasing demand of Coutts’ wealth management and private banking services in the North West.’
