Leonard Charlton's Melchior European equities team has been boosted by the hire of Mark Greenhoff.
He joins as a senior analyst based in London and will form part of the team working on Charlton's (pictured) Melchior European and Melchior Selected Trust European Absolute Return funds, offered through Dalton Strategic Partnership.
Greenhoff, who has 18 years’ experience of managing European equities, joins from Millennium where he most recently managed a long short portfolio and subsequently spent some time managing a proprietary property project.
He joins during a difficult spell for the fund, which has seen it suffer a loss of 2.6% over the three years to the end of November versus an average fund gain of 22.3% in the Alternative Ucits Long/Short equity sector.
Magnus Spence, DSP's co-founder said in a statement: 'Mark is an extremely welcome addition to the firm. He has an outstanding track record as a stock picker in European equity markets over many years.'
Greenhoff begun his career at BZW Investment Management in 1989, before a spell at Royal London Asset Management where he managed long only pension fund and the the top performing Royal London European Growth fund, now managed by Neil Wilkinson.
In 2001, Greenhoff moved to GLG Partners where he continued to manage long only money but also transitioned to manage long short portfolios alongside Leonard Charlton (pictured).
