Private client firm Dart Capital has made a double hire to bolster its fund research and professional connections capabilities within the accounting circles.
The wealth management house has hired the former RMB Asset Management senior fund analyst, Nicholas Samuels, as well as Anderson Charnley’s Lynn Flynn.
Richard Whitehead, chief executive of Dart Capital, said Flynn has been hired as an asset manager to handle new and existing client relationships.
However, he also revealed her hire is a strategic decision to reinforce the firm’s connections within the accounting circles, a sector in which Flynn is well-known as a result of her work for Anderson Charnley.
Whitehead said: ‘We are one of the select few companies which have been approved by PricewaterhouseCoopers and we have a large number of existing partners as clients. We also have two board advisers, John Orpen and Richard Murphy, who are ex-PWC partners.
‘Lawyer and accountancy firms have been one of the key areas for us in the past. Clearly, the task for Lynn is to continue to grow our clients within this field, as she has experience.
Samuels, meanwhile, has joined in a senior research function and will focus on the firm’s manager selection process. Whitehead added: ‘Nick will work to grow and expand our relationship with the fund management industry.’
He said the hires were an opportunistic part of the growth plans to eventually run £500 million in assets in ‘reasonable time’. ‘It’s about having the right people, the right kind of clients and the right kind of staff.’
