David Kiddie returns to London for BNP Paribas role

BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has named David Kiddie as chief executive of its institutional business line.

Kiddie will relocate to London to replace Philippe Marchessaux, who will continue to operate as chief executive of BNPP IP.

Kiddie has more than 30 years experience in asset management and has spent the last four years as chief investment officer and member of the leadership team at AMP Capital Investors in Australia.

Prior to this he had a spell as CIO for ABN Amro Asset Management and also held senior positions at Baring Asset Management, where he was head of equities. He also worked at Insight Investment and Sun Life Investment Management.

BNNP IP described the appointment of Kiddie as a key step in its strategy to develop its institutional franchise, which comprises 350 staff and more the 175 investment professionals.

'I am particularly proud to entrust the leadership of our institutional business line to David,' said Marchessaux

'David brings deep knowledge of the institutional world, a proven track record in driving investment excellence and experience in working in a multi-cultural environment. I fully trust he will accelerate the development of our institutional franchise across the globe.'

Kiddie added: 'I look forward to building upon the key strengths of its investment teams and to further develop the institutional business by capitalising on its significant footprint and brand.'
