Ex-FundsNetwork boss White follows Shaughnessy to Zurich

Zurich has appointed former FundsNetwork boss David White as head of retail for its UK life business.

White has followed former Fidelity UK managing director Gary Shaughnessy who is now chief executive at Zurich UK Life, to the company.

White, who quit his role at Fidelity in September 2012 will report to Shaughnessy from 21 January and will be responsible for all aspects of Zurich’s UK retail business including strategy, sales, marketing and adviser relations.

Shaughnessy said: ‘I am delighted that David is joining Zurich. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the retail market and is well placed to lead the retail business at a time of enormous change for the insurance industry.’

White said he would continue to develop Zurich’s products and services to meet the needs of the UK advisory market.

‘It’s a challenging time right now, with economic uncertainty and unprecedented regulatory change. However, despite these uncertainties, Zurich UK Life is well placed to provide strength and support to all of our customers – helping them to succeed in this new, post-retail distribution review world.’
