Ex-Lyxor chief named AXA IM distribution head in boardroom reshuffle
by Dylan Lobo on Oct 24, 2013 at 10:49
Former Lyxor Asset Management chief executive Laurent Seyer has been named head of global distribution at AXA Investment Managers in a boardroom overhaul.
Seyer was CEO of Lyxor between 2006 and 2012 before he joined AXA IM as global head of multi-asset client solutions (Macs).
In his new capacity he will be responsible for strengthening relationships with the firm's third-party clients and ensuring the firm’s high-quality investment solutions are distributed effectively to external investors worldwide.
The appointment, which fills the void left by the departure of previous distribution head Jon Baillie to Pioneer Investments earlier this year, has triggered a boardroom reshuffle at the firm.
From 1 March 2014 AXA IM chief operating officer (COO) Christophe Coquema will assume Seyer's Macs role, while global head of markets and investment strategy, Joesph Pinto, becomes COO. They will both remain members of AXA IM's board, reporting to AXA IM chief executive Andrea Rossi.
Seyer will continue to act at head of Macs alongside his new global distribution responsibilities until next month.
Commenting on the reshuffle, Rossi said. 'Laurent Seyer is ideally positioned to take on this role.
'Having been the CEO of Lyxor Asset Management from 2006 to 2012, and having designed and delivered tailor-made multi-asset class solutions for our principal client AXA Group as well as other institutional investors since then at AXA IM, he perfectly understands the investment issues clients are facing today.'
