Ex-Newton investment chief Phil Collins joins Sarasin & Partners

Newton's former chief investment officer (CIO) Phil Collins is joining Sarasin & Partners to run multi-asset portfolios at the firm.
Collins (pictured) joins a team responsible for £5.2 billion of multi-asset portfolios, drawing on his 25 years of investment experience which includes an 18-year spell at Newton, where he had been CIO of the private client business and ran the Newton Phoenix Multi-Asset fund . He has experience in running funds alongside segregated institutional, charity and private client portfolios.
Sarasin currently runs £13.1 billion in assets.

Collins left Newton in March 2012 after a restructure of its private client business.
