Ex-Premier Research head Hallen joins Albemarle

Raj Hallen has joined Albemarle Street Partners (ASP) as a director and shareholder in the business.

Hallen (pictured) joins with over 20 years investment experience, having most recently worked at Kleinwort Benson as a portfolio manager within its managed funds team.

He also formerly worked at Premier as head of research and a private client portfolio manager, and served as deputy CIO at Skandia.

Partner Clive Hale commented: 'We are very excited to welcome Raj on board at this exciting time in ASP’s development. Raj's skill as an investor and experience of serving IFAs makes him the ideal addition to our team.'

Hallen added: 'The [ASP] business model is ideally suited to the post-RDR environment where advisers are being challenged to raise their game and lower their costs.'

The appointment follows the departure of former Wealth Manager cover star Sam Liddle, who joined Church House Investments as sales director for its new managed portfolio service.

ASP builds model portfolios for advisers and provides consultancy in risk budgeting, quantitative analysis and the use of alternative assets.
