Ex-Thames River director Mike Warren joins adviser firm
by Danielle Levy on Mar 07, 2014 at 13:42
Former Thames River director Mike Warren has joined adviser firm Carrington Investments as a non-executive director.
Warren, who left Thames River in 2012 shortly ahead of its integration with F&C, will chair Carrington's quarterly investment committee meetings and help to develop the firm's fledgling investment proposition. He will also oversee Carrington's new quarterly investment reporting.
Mike Hodges, managing director of Carrington, described Warren coming on board as 'another significant hire that we have made in the last 12 months'.
'He will bring some real independence to our investment committee,' he added.
Warren added: 'I have known Carrington's for some time and believe it has a unique investment proposition.'
Alongside taking a strategic role with Carrington, Warren is also managing a wine fund - the Sideways Wine fund.
His career spans 30 years and includes stints as managing director of Deutsche Asset Management, main board director at HSBC Investments and a director at Baring Asset Management. During his time at Thames River he developed the fund range alongside chief executive Charlie Porter.
Carrington offers financial planning and investment management and has around £80 million in assets run on an advisory basis.
