by James Phillipps on Jun 19, 2014 at 12:04
Schroders has hired Sheila Nicoll to the newly created role of head of public policy.
Nicoll, the former director of conduct policy at the Financial Services Authority, left the regulator to join Ersnt & Young when it transitioned to the Financial Conduct Authority last April.
Massimo Tosato, Schroders’ executive vice chairman, said; ‘Schroders has been a long-term supporter of meaningful regulation, acknowledging the role it plays in improving trust, protecting the customer and enhancing market stability. In creating this new role of head of public policy, we want to enhance our engagement with regulatory change globally to promote the best outcome for our clients and the firm.
‘I am delighted to welcome Sheila to Schroders. The depth of her expertise in public policy and regulation is unparalleled. The pragmatic approach she has adopted throughout her career will be invaluable in helping us contribute more actively to the significant changes the industry will face in the coming years.’
