Former Morningstar OBSR pair join City Financial
by Elsa Buchanan on Sep 30, 2013 at 10:59
Former Morningstar OBSR duo Peter Toogood and Gill Hutchison are to join City Financial and will lead the firm's fund research as it looks to expand its multi-asset business.
Prior to joining Morningstar, Toogood was chief investment officer at Forsyth Partners and Hutchison was head of investment consultancy with the pair having worked together for over a decade.
They will join Mark Harris (pictured), head of multi-asset, who oversees City Financial’s six multi-asset funds and Tim Short, who recently joined the firm as chief risk officer.
Andrew Williams, chief executive officer, said in a statement: ‘As an independent fund manager we are in a position to adapt and evolve our service offering as the requirements of advisers and institutions change. We recognise that the future of fund management firms like our own lies in proving a complete, solutions based package of services, including fund research and consulting.’
Toogood added: 'City Financial represents an excellent opportunity to extend the research and consulting services that Gill and I have developed together over many years. Mark, Gill and I have complementary skills which can be applied to enhance the rapidly growing multi-asset franchise at the firm.'
Toogood and Hutchison’s resignation from Morningstar OBSR followed the exit of OBSR founders Richard Romer-Lee and Nigel Whittingham late last year.
