Jamie Forbes-Wilson was born in Surrey in 1974. He graduated from Exeter University in 1996 with a BA (Hons) degree in Economic and Political Development. He began his career at Wise Speke in 1996 and served as an investment manager. Jamie worked as a private portfolio manager at Brewin Dolphin after it merged with Wise Speke in 1998. In 2003, he moved to AXA Framlington as an investment manager, responsible for charity, pension and private client portfolios. Jamie is a Fellow of the Charted Institute for Securities and Investment. Outside of fund management, he enjoys golf.

Jim Stride

Industry veteran Jim Stride has more than 30 years' investment experience to bring to the wide range of portfolios he manages for Axa. Retail funds under his command include the Axa Distribution and the Axa Global Distribution funds. He is also responsible for two giant unit-linked life funds, the Axa Life Distribution and the Axa Life Deferred Distribution funds, plus the Axa Pensions Retirement Distribution fund. Born in Reading in 1955, Stride prefers to use a bottom-up approach to picking stocks. He graduated from the London School of Economics in Accounting and Finance and is a fan of renowned value investor Benjamin Graham.

Objective

The aim of this Fund is to achieve growing income with some prospects for capital growth over the medium to long term. The investment objective will be achieved by investing in quoted UK companies, convertibles and UK gilts including index linked gilts. The maximum investment in equities will normally be 60% of the property of the Fund. The Fund may also invest at the Investment Manager's discretion in transferable securities, derivatives, cash, deposits, units in collective investment schemes and money market instruments. Use may be made of borrowing, cash holdings, hedging and other investment techniques permitted in applicable Financial Services Authority rules.
