Marc Girault was born in Quebec, Canada during the late 50s. He studied at the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne: Paris I, and gained a Masters in Business Law. He has been in the fund management business for just under 30 years. Girault stared out as a portfolio advisor at Goy Hauvette Stock Brokers in 1980 and he held this role at other companies between 1980 and 1991. In 1991 he was a founding partner of HMG Finance where he currently runs a number of funds, the largest being HMG Globetrotter for which he describes his investment style as bottom–up contrarian. Away from work, Girault enjoys a game of backgammon and is also interested in forestry.
Paul Girault was born in Grenoble, France. He studied at EMLYON Business School (formerly École de Management de Lyon) and graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance in 1989. He first worked for HMG Finance back in 1994 where he was a financial analyst. He then had stints at Alpha Associates and as a freelance consultant. He then rejoined HMG Finance in 2006 as a fund manger. He currently works with Marc Girault on the HMG Globetrotter fund. Outside of managing funds he describes his hobbies as archaeology and history.
The fund objective is to outperform its reference index the MSCI All Countries World Index over on investment time horizon of 5 years through investments in international equity markets. Its management will be discretionary. The fund shall be exposed between 60% and 100% in equities of international firms, including emerging economies, and of all capitalization sizes. The fund's assets may be invested up to a limit of 40% in French or foreign debt securities (including convertible bonds) whose rating can be of speculative grade (inferior to BBB).
