Born in 1965 in Wimbledon, Mark Harries studied economics, geography and history at the Glyn Grammar School, Epsom. He began his career in Coutts & Co (1983–1990) and went on to join ANZ Grindlays (1990–1998). In 1998 he joined Prudential Securites and later joined Cazenove Capital in 2001. He left Cazenove in October 2007 with Simon Wood to join Aberdeen, where they both managed the Multi-Manager Diversity and Select Boutiques funds. Harries joined Vartan Ravenscroft in November 2016 as Head of Ravenscroft Investment Management UK. He is a member of the ifs School of Finance. He lists golf, football and rugby among his interests outside of fund management.
The investment objective of the Sub Fund is to generate long term capital growth primarily through investment in global equity markets. The Sub Fund seeks to attain its objective by investing in a number of collective investment schemes that offer a range of geographic and sector exposures or whose investment strategy best fit the investment environment.
