Born in Melbourne, Australia in 1967, Simon Somerville studied at Durham University, graduating in 1990 with a BA honours degree in Economics. Simon’s investment career began the following year with Cazenove Fund Management. In the course of his five years with the firm, Simon progressed to become head of global & Japanese equities, before moving on to Jupiter in 2005, where he is currently joint head of the far eastern equities team. Simon is responsible for Jupiter’s Japan Income fund and the Japan elements of both the Global Managed and Global Technology funds, using a 'Growth at Reasonable Price' approach to investing. Away from the office, Simon enjoys shooting, tennis, rugby and running, including marathon running. He has completed both the Tokyo and New York marathons.


The objective is to achieve long-term capital growth principally through investment in equities on an international basis. The Fund's investment policy is to achieve long-term capital growth through investment in a concentrated international portfolio. The portfolio will principally comprise of companies considered by the Manager to be undervalued and which exhibit favourable growth prospects arising from characteristics such as proven management or strong products or services.
