Richard Colwell was born in Stafford, and attended Bangor University where he obtained a degree in Banking & Finance. Richard started his career at the Bank of England in 1990 and joined B2W in 1994. In late 1994 he joined Schroder Investment Management, and in 2002 he moved to Credit Suisse Asset management before joining Aviva Investors in 2007 where he ran the Aviva Investors UK Income & Growth fund. In 2010 Richard joined Columbia Threadneedle and runs the Threadneedle Managed Income, Monthly Extra Income, UK Growth & Income and UK Overseas Earnings funds. He holds the IIMR from the Chartered Institute of Bankers and is an associate member of the UKSIP and a member of the Association of Chartered Institute of Banks (CIB). Outside of fund management, he enjoys rugby, football and music.

Objective

The fund will seek to achieve an above average rate of income combined with sound prospects for capital growth. The fund will invest primarily in UK equities. It may, however, invest in other securities, such as convertibles and gilts.
