GAM hires Rory MacEwen from Barclays Wealth

GAM has hired Barclays Wealth's Rory MacEwen as a portfolio manager at its London office.

At Barclays Wealth, MacEwen co-managed about £150 million of assets for around 50 high net worth clients in his role as assistant vice president.

In his new position, which begins next monday (21 June), MacEwen will work alongside GAM's existing portfolio directors on managing offshore fiduciary and international accounts. He will report to head of UK private clients Jonathan Colchester.

Colchester said: '[MacEwen's] readiness to respond to client needs is of particular significance to us as we broaden the scope of what we offer. We will continue to grow our business by assessing clients' investment goals and using our broad range of active management capabilities to attain them.
