Henderson High Income appoints co-manager for Crooke

David Smith has been promoted to co-manager of the £209 million Henderson High Income , the investment trust run by Alex Crooke (pictured) since 1997.
Smith joined Henderson more than 11 years ago and has been deputy manager of the trust since January 2013, while Crooke also manages the £675 million Bankers Investment Trust .
In the three years to November 30, Henderson High Income trust's share price has returned 72.4% on a total return basis, compared with a rise of 35.9% for its benchmark, a composite of 80% FTSE All Share and 20% Merrill Lynch Sterling Non Gilts Index.
Over one year to November 30 the trust's share price has risen 31.7% compared with 16.1% for the benchmark.
