HSBC Global Asset Management (GAM) has promoted Andy Clark to chief executive officer, replacing Simeon Brown who is leaving to pursue other interests.
Clark, who joined in 2005, reports to Rudolf Apenbrink, the CEO of global asset management for Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA).
He joined HSBC as head of UK retail, before becoming responsible for wholesale distribution in the MENA region in 2008.
Clark then became regional head of wholesale for EMEA last year. In his new role, Clark replaces Brown, who had been with HSBC for 16 years, the last five of which as UK CEO for HSBC GAM.
HSBC GAM in the UK has around $127 billion in assets under distribution.
