Citywire Selection verdict: The renewables sector has suffered in recent years due to oversupply and government policy change in key markets. Despite accounting for only 20% of the clean energy universe it still shapes investors’ perceptions and as a result this trust’s discount has widened significantly in the last couple of years. Last year was good for the trust with key sectors such as energy efficiency, waste and water management performing strongly. On the latter the trust has started to play not only the filtration of water, but also its use in the booming natural gas market.
