Inglis-Jones named Liontrust's Cashflow Solution head as West retires
by Sarah Miloudi on Sep 09, 2013 at 14:12
Liontrust's Gary West has retired from fund management after a career spanning nearly 30 years.
Announcing West's retirement, Liontrust said James Inglis-Jones would take over his responsibilities and become sole head of the Cashflow Solution investment team, which runs the group's European Growth and Income funds, among others.
The funds and institutional portfolios are also managed by Samantha Gleave, who joined Liontrust a year ago as part of its succession planning.
Liontrust said there will be no change to the investment process and how the Cashflow Solution funds are managed.
John Ions, Liontrust's chief executive, added that after several years successfully developing and managing the Liontrust Cashflow Solution investment process, West (pictured) was keen to pursue opportunities outside the industry.
Ions said: 'Gary and I spoke 18 months ago about his desire to retire within the next three years.
'We appointed Samantha as part of the succession plan and the speed at which she has integrated into the team and the company has enabled us to bring forward Gary’s retirement.
'The successful transition of the Income fund to a global mandate has also made it an opportune time for Gary to retire.
'Liontrust wishes to thank Gary for his contribution to Liontrust over the past seven years, particularly the growth of the business over the past three years.'
