Investec taps EM local currency opportunity with double launch
Investec Asset Management is expanding the breadth of its emerging market debt range with the launch of two funds targeting local currency debt opportunities in Asia and the emerging markets.
The firm is launching an Asian local currency and emerging market debt funds. The GSF Asia Local Currency Bond fund has been launched for Peter Eerdmans (pictured) and Wilfred Wee. It will invest in local currency sovereign and corporate bonds across the Asia region, and have shorter interest rate duration risk compared to developed market bonds.
The fund will sit alongside the GSF Emerging Market Debt Total Return fund, which has been launched for Antoon de Klerk and Andre Roux. The fund is non benchmark-led, focusing on opportunities in emerging market bonds that are local currency-denominated.
