Investec Wealth & Investment Guildford trio quit for Rathbones
by Danielle Levy on Mar 17, 2014 at 09:31
Three investment managers from Investec Wealth & Investment’s Guildford team have departed for Rathbones.
David Till, Martin Vanstone and Danny Hannan have left Investec’s Guildford office and are set to join Rathbones, Wealth Manager understands. The three managers all formerly worked at Williams de Broë, which was taken over by Investec in 2012.
They followed former Williams de Broë chief executive Phillip Howell, who this month takes over from Andrew Pomfret as chief executive of Rathbones.
The latest moves are understood to be linked to lock-ins expiring after the integration with Investec Wealth & Investment.
Vanstone had worked at Williams de Broë since 2006, while Till joined the business around the same time. Hannan joined in 2007 from Lloyds Private Banking.
Their departures follow that of Investec’s chief strategist Jim Wood-Smith and investment manager Henry Rising to Hawksmoor in October 2013.
However, Investec has itself attracted investment managers recently, with the hire of nine from Deutsche and Barclays across its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
Rathbones and Investec Wealth & Investment declined to comment.
