Johnson to keep hold of Omam's bond fund
by Emma Dunkley on Dec 09, 2011 at 13:56
Johnson has managed the fund on an interim basis, since Snowden’s departure in April this year to join Kames Capital.
Omam said the fund will remain at least 80% invested in investment grade bonds and 100% hedged into sterling, although Johnson will use the team’s macro and high yield capabilities to seek opportunities in non-investment grade space, as well as government bonds.
Johnson said the fund remains defensively positioned given the current risks in Europe and the financial sector.
‘However, we believe there are strong areas of value in corporate bonds in core sectors, especially outside Europe,’ she added.
Johnson, who joined the firm in 2010, will continue to manage the £33.6 million Dynamic Bond fund.
