JP Morgan PB names Coutts' Griffiths as UK wealth advisory head

JP Morgan Private Bank has named managing director Steve Griffiths head of UK wealth advisory.
Based in London, Griffiths has been tasked with for providing guidance on wealth planning and wealth structuring strategies for clients who have a relationship with bankers in the UK.
He will report to Paul Knox, head of EMEA wealth advisory at JP Morgan Private Bank.
Welcoming Griffiths on board, Olivier de Givenchy (pictured), head of JP Morgan Private Bank UK and former Wealth Manager cover star, said. 'As an integral part of our private banking offering, our wealth advisors work together with our clients and their advisors to develop bespoke wealth optimisation and succession strategies across borders and down generations.
'His breadth of experience and knowledge in wealth planning, and of the UK market, in particular, make him a significant member of our private banking team.'
Griffiths comes on board at JP Morgan from rival Coutts & Co, where he served as global head of tax and wealth structuring.
Prior to Coutts, Griffiths was head of wealth planning at Credit Suisse UK for three years, and at UBS Wealth Management UK for nine years.
JP Morgan has been making a concerted push into the UK since it hired Tracy Reddings from SGPB Hambros to set up a new wealth arm.
Last month Wealth Manager revealed the division made seven hires as it stepped up its push.
