Jupiter hires Schroders’ Clark to head private client division
by Emma Dunkley on Sep 18, 2012 at 10:59
Jupiter Asset Management has appointed Andrew Clark as head of private clients and charities, leading a 24-strong team.
Clark, who has 17 years’ experience in the wealth management sector, will join the firm in early December.
The firm’s private client arm has doubled assets under management to £1.8 billion over the past four years and Clark is tasked with leading the charge to grow this further.
Clark previously worked at Schroders where he was head of business development for the private client banking division since April 2010.
Before this, he spent 15 years in the private client division at Merrill Lynch, formerly BlackRock and Mercury Asset Management. He then became head of discretionary, EMEA, at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management.
Maarten Slendebroek, distribution and strategy director at Jupiter, said: ‘The wealth management sector is benefiting from long term structural growth and Jupiter has already made significant strides to increase its share of the market.’
Slenderbroek joined Jupiter at the start of September, also taking a seat on the board, having previously worked at BlackRock as head of international retail.
