Jupiter poaches Newton’s head of dealing
by Robert St George on Jan 30, 2014 at 07:30
Jupiter has poached Newton’s head of dealing, Jason McAleer.
McAleer will take up the same position at Jupiter, replacing Jane Phillips after she brought her 12-year career at the firm to an end in September 2013.
At Jupiter McAleer will be responsible for managing the group’s team of eight dealers. Prior to his 14 years at Newton, McAleer worked at Sarasin Investment Management and Chase Asset Management.
‘His broad experience and knowledge will be of significant benefit as we develop our fund management operations, both with regard to geography and financial instruments,’ said Rupert Corfield, Jupiter’s head of investment risk and fund operations.
McAleer added: ‘Jupiter is a highly regarded company with significant potential and I am delighted to be joining the firm as it seeks to expand.’
