Jupiter unveils Bestinvest private client hires
by Matthew Goodburn on Oct 31, 2008 at 11:18
Jupiter has unveiled the names of the four private client managers who join from Bestinvest next month to bolster its £800 million private client division.
Oliver Burns, William Day, David Blake and William Luttrell-Hunt will join the firm next month bringing Jupiter's private client fund manager headcount to 14.
The news comes just a week after Jupiter announced that Robert Walker, Paula Forecast, Phil Gent and Oliver Pearson-Lund would be joining Jupiter from Singer & Friedlander between November 2008 and January 2009.
The hires are the first external recruits by Jupiter's private client business, a key focus of expansion for the company going forward.
The additions are likely to push Jupiter's private client assets under management significantly over the £1 billion mark.
Assets for the division currently stand at £800 million, up from around £250 million two years ago.
Jupiter head of private client Colin Chisholm (pictured) said the Bestinvest managers had experience of working in SRI and green private client investing, a key part of Jupiter's retail and private client fund offering.
He said: 'We have already built a high quality platform and now we are building on it.These new managers should help to take our platform over the £1 billion mark.'
The eight new hires will join Jupiter's existing private client managers, comprising Chisholm, Victor Cazelet, Sam Boyd and Jamie Ferguson on the Jupiter fund-based team, and Tim Woods and Kevin Booth on the stock broking side.
