Killik financial planning cover star leaves

Malcolm Cuthbert has resigned as head of financial planning at Killik. Cuthbert achieved great success in establishing the firm’s wrap service, which has amassed around £500 million over the past five years, representing a tenfold increase in assets.

Cuthbert, a former Citywire Wealth Manager cover star, initially joined Killik as a director of corporate services and was later appointed managing director of financial planning.

Cuthbert launched the FlexiSipp service for Killik, later renamed the Killik & Co Sipp, which has become a key component in the company’s move away from its mass-affluent brokerage model towards a more fee-based advisory model.

The business helped to establish Killik Chartered Financial Planners, which has four advisers who have achieved the status in readiness for the retail distribution review.

A Killik spokesperson said: ‘[Cuthbert] made a big contribution over the past six years and did a splendid job setting up Sipps.’ He added that a replacement had not yet been lined up but that it was ‘business as usual’.
