Kleinwort makes inaugural head of charities hire
by Elsa Buchanan on Aug 22, 2013 at 10:32
Kleinwort Benson has hired Newton’s Gemma Woodward for the newly created role of head of charities.
Woodward, who was previously the lead manager of Newton’s SRI fund for charities, will report to Kleinwort head of private wealth management Stephen Rothwell.
The private bank is looking to grow its charities business and Rothwell said: ‘[Woodward] has a good track record advising charities on how best to discharge their investment responsibilities. She will make a powerful addition to our growing team.’
Kleinwort offers bespoke investment advice to charity clients and also advises charities on cash management and how to incorporate SRI into their investment policy.
Woodward (pictured), who started her career at Lloyds Private Banking before moving to Henderson Global Investors and then Newton, co-chairs Women and Health, a charity that provides counselling and other health therapies in Camden, London. She is also an independent investment adviser to the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
