L&G Investments reunite SLI global equity duo with Threadneedle hire
L&G Investments has hired Threadneedle Investments' Esther Perkins as part of its push into the active equity market.
The appointment sees Perkins (pictured) reunited with former Standard Life Investments (SLI) colleague Lance Phillips, who quit the Edinburgh-based firm last September to take on the new role of head of active equities at L&G.
Phillips departure from SLI coincided with the exit of a three-strong multi-asset team, who moved to Invesco Perpetual to set up a Gars-like strategy.
Perkins, spent 10 years at SLI running global equity mandates, including the SLI Glo Sicav Global Equities fund, which she managed for a seven-year spell from October 2000.
She joined Threadneedle in 2008 from SLI as head of its Europe, Australia and Far East division (EAFE) for William Davies' global equity team, where she was responsible for a range of mandates.
Commenting on her departure, Threadneedle said in a statement: 'Esther Perkins, EAFE fund manager, is leaving Threadneedle to make a change in career direction and we wish her well.
'Threadneedle has a large global equities team headed by William Davies. Esther’s fund responsibilities will be split across the team.'
L&G Investments confirmed Perkins would be joining the firm but was not in a position to disclose the role she would be assuming.
