Henderson has hired James de Bunsen as a fund manager in the multi asset team, following on from the news Tony Lanning is to leave for JP Morgan.
De Bunsen will report to Bill McQuaker, head of multi-asset, and before joining Henderson he served at Armstrong Investment Managers for two and a half years.
While there he was a portfolio manager on its IM Distinction Real Return fund, and previous to that he spent five years at Insight Investment as an investment analyst within its multi-asset team.
At Henderson de Bunsen will be responsible for specific client portfolios as well as adding his knowledge to the investment expertise of the team.
Speaking about the hire, McQuaker said: 'Multi-asset is an important part of our business and we have long had plans in place to increase the resources and size of the team to support our ambitions.
'As multi-asset investment strategies are increasingly demanded by our clients it is important we have the strength of talent in our team to provide the best possible investment and service to investors.'
The latest appointment takes Henderson's multi-asset team to 11. It operates as a specialist investment division within Henderson and has more than £5.7 billion in retail assets under management.
Earlier this month it was announced that Lanning (pictured) had decided to exit the team in January next year, leaving a hole for de Bunsen. Lanning will join JP Morgan to work on its Fusion range, a tie up between JP Morgan Asset Management and its private bank.
