Liontrust rebrands Luthman and Bailey funds
by Emma Dunkley on Jun 08, 2012 at 12:16
The three funds comprise the CF Walker Crips UK Growth, CF Walker Crips Equity Income and CF Walker Crips UK High Alpha funds , which have been renamed CF Liontrust Macro UK Growth, CF Liontrust Macro Equity Income and CF Liontrust Macro UK High Alpha.
In terms of the investment remit of the funds, Liontrust said there have been no changes. They continue to be managed by Jan Luthman and Stephen Bailey in line with their existing macro-thematic investment process.
Luthman and Bailey’s process is based on macro-thematic analysis, identifying major economic, political and social developments affecting the UK and rest of the world. The managers view these issues as offering greater scope to add long-term investment value than stock-specific analysis.
Liontrust announced in March it was acquiring Walker Crips Asset Managers, paying around £12 million for the firm while taking on board two of its top managers Luthman and Bailey.
The managers returned 58.91% on the UK Growth fund over three years to the end of April, versus the FTSE 100 index's 50.39%.
